Jazz nad Odrą

The Jazz nad Odrą Festival is a true gem on the musical map of Poland. Its history dates back to 1964, making it one of the oldest and most valued jazz festivals in the country.

Initially, it was a competition for young jazz musicians who dreamed of wider recognition. Nobody at the time expected it to become one of the most important jazz festivals in Europe.

From the very beginning, the festival was a place for discovering talents, and many artists who debuted on its stage later made an international career. It was here that Zbigniew Namysłowski, Tomasz Stańko and Ewa Bem took their first steps.
Over the years, Jazz nad Odrą began to attract bigger and bigger stars, and Wrocław became a mecca for jazz lovers. Artists such as Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny and Marcus Miller appeared on stage, which only strengthened the festival's prestige on the international stage.
Today, after more than 60 years, Jazz nad Odrą is not only concerts, but also workshops, jam sessions, photography exhibitions and discussion panels. These days, Wrocław is literally buzzing with jazz! Despite the passage of time, one thing remains the same - the unique atmosphere and the spirit of musical improvisation, which have been attracting audiences from all over the world for years.
